A former path for stagecoaches, Big Sur’s Old Coast Trail remains open for modern-day vehicles. Note that it’s a narrow, single-lane road, but there are plenty of pull-off points to allow other vehicles to pass and/or stop off for photos.
It’s a great way to experience the Pacific Coast Highway — past and present — and because it’s a driving attraction, it’s ideal for all ages.
