Old Mill District

450 SW Powerhouse Dr, Ste 422, Bend, OR

The Old Mill District may first appear to be just another shopping district. But it’s actually a former milling property that’s been transformed into an experience in downtown Bend. What was formerly the location of two lumber mills along the Deschutes River is now a family destination. There are numerous shops and restaurants to enjoy, but indeed the district has so much more to offer.

There is an extensive, paved walking trail that runs along the river and through and around the entire 270-acre property with plenty of murals, artwork and sculptures to be found along the way. There is a large, fenced-in dog park that gives dogs the opportunity to play in the river, too! The large Amphitheater hosts family-friendly concerts and events throughout the year and kids will love dancing and playing in the large grassy areas.

There are hidden gems to be found throughout the property too, like the Casting Course, where fly-fishing skills can be mastered; bike and surrey rentals; history and artifacts from the lumber milling days; and art galleries. It’s hard to miss the dozens of people floating, kayaking and paddle boarding down the Deschutes River, too!

The Old Mill District has transformed and reinvented itself for new generations of families to enjoy while also holding on to its history and roots in the lumber industry.
