Oregon Coast Aquarium

2820 Southeast Ferry Slip Road, Newport, OR

Spending a day at the world-class Oregon Coast Aquarium will be one of the highlights of your family vacation to Newport. Kids are going to love exploring the wide variety of sea creatures that call the aquarium home. They’ll see otters, sharks, turkey vultures, and sea lions, just to name a few.

One of the highlights of the aquarium is Passages of the Deep, a series of underwater tubes that lead you through three different ocean ecosystems. Safely under the water, you’ll see hundreds of different species of fish, from halibut to bat rays to anchovy to sharks. There really is enough to see and do at the aquarium to take up an entire day.

Luckily, the onsite restaurant offers a family-friendly menu, featuring fish and chips, burgers, salads, and fish tacos, so you don’t have to look for food elsewhere. Speaking of food, there are daily opportunities to actually feed some of the animals. These experiences cost more than the current admission of $22.95 for adults, $19.95 for teens, and $14.95 for under 12, but it might be worth paying more for your kids to shake hands with an octopus or get a kiss from a sea lion.

Hours
The Oregon Coast Aquarium is open from 10 to 5 daily, and definitely has seven hours worth of fun activities for the entire family.
