Attraction

Oregon Shakespeare Festival

15 South Pioneer St., Ashland, OR

For over 80 years, the Oregon Shakespeare Festival has entertained theatergoers with authentic renditions of the classic playwright’s work. In fact, the festival has performed all 37 of his plays over 300 times. At any given time of the year, a family can expect to see any three of his plays as they rotate from day to day. One night you will be sitting in the beautiful outdoor Elizabethan Theatre watching Hamlet, the next Romeo and Juliet.

If that’s not enough, the festival’s other two theaters present a regular rotation of modern plays and musicals. It’s a smorgasbord of live entertainment. You will not find a better cast and crew on Broadway than those who travel to this small town in Southern Oregon to pursue their passion for William Shakespeare. Because of the many and varied offerings, it’s good to plan a two- or three-day trip to take it all in.

Tickets
Tickets for any of the main shows range from $30 to over $100. Many of the shows sell out, so it’s best to book well in advance of your vacation. Your kids will be enthralled by the magic of live theater, but to make it even more special, be sure to book a Backstage Tour for just $20. These also sell out quickly, so plan ahead.
