Family Activities:

Parc Guell

Attraction

Also famed for having the Gaudi touch is Parc Guell, unlike any park your family has ever seen. This whimsical park was meant to become a “garden city” complete with homes surrounding it. Two homes were built before the park was turned into a public park instead. With its hillside location in the Gracia area, the park affords fabulous views of Barcelona, but it will be the unique touches that the kids will most love, such as giant, decorative, mosaic lizards, carved stone trees and a hall of columns. Entrance into the park is free, and it can be quite packed with visitors so make your way over in the early morning or late afternoon hours, and visit during the week rather than a weekend, if you can. For a couple of euros, you can visit the Centre d’Interpretacio, at the main entrance, which provides information on and the history of the park.
