The gothic and gorgeous Parliament building was inspired by London’s Parliament and is an imposing structure along the Danube. Situated on the Pest side, the Parliament is open to visitors. Tour through the Upper House Hall and Lobby, the Dome Hall and its beautiful stairways. Guests 14 and older may watch parliament sessions when they are in session (tickets are required). Outside, Kossuth Square is a national park recently restructured in the last decade. Guards march near the Hungarian flag, and a memorial is located in the ventilation tunnel to honor the “Bloody Thursday” massacre of unarmed who demonstrating in 1956 during the revolution.
