The Penang Island Discovery Morning Tour allows tourists to discover the beauty of the traditional local culture. The morning will kick off with hotel pickup at 9:30 before heading to a batik factory.

The visit includes a lesson in how to create art using the ancient technique of painting material using a mixture of waxes and colored dyes. The guide will also give a talk on rubber tapping methods and which natural products make for the best dyes.

Next, guests will get the chance to explore a rural village before visiting the Snake Temple, built in honor of Buddhist Monk Chor Soo Kong. The easily startled should note that the temple contains a pit of snakes rendered harmless due to the billowing incense smoke. Just in case, they’ve also had their venom removed.

The tour will then go on to an artisanal jewelry crafting and selling area, followed by a trip along the world’s third largest bridge to Georgetown. A guide will point out areas of historical significance.
