Perry’s Victory & International Peace Memorial

93 Delaware Ave., Put-In-Bay, OH

Commodore Oliver Hazard Perry led a fleet of ships to victory in the Battle of Lake Erie and this memorial honors those who fought in the battle. Families can tour the small visitor’s center museum at the base of the 352-foot column. Inside, artifacts, memorabilia, and a short 15-minute movie explain the history to visitors.

After the movie, walk a few steps from the visitor’s center to the memorial, where you can take an elevator (after walking up 37 steps) to the observation deck. Visitors will love the panoramic views from the top! Park rangers are on hand to answer any questions and speak more on the history of the memorial.
