It doesn’t get better than Pfeiffer Beach in Big Sur, California. This breathtaking beach is perfect for a picnic lunch and/or sunset photos, and is known for its purple sand. It’s not as ideal for swimming, unfortunately, due to its rocky shores.
Note: As of September, 2017, Pfeiffer Beach is currently closed due to detours caused by a mudslide.
