Attraction

Philipsburg Manor

Route 9, Sleepy Hollow, 10591, NY

This historic home and grounds were established in the mid-1700s as a farm, mill, and trading center. Guests of Philipsburg Manor can participate in 18th century activities as the grounds are now a living history museum. Visitors can enjoy guided tours through the manor house, and work on the farm with costumed performers and educators. Philipsburg is open seasonally, from May through mid-November. Timed tickets are required for entry, and the site asks guests to plan to spend two hours on the property.

During the fall and Halloween season, Philipsburg Manor is transformed into Horseman’s Hollow, a haunted house that is meant for ‘tweens and up. (Little ones will get scared!) The special attraction takes place on weekends in October and features a Headless Horseman theme, with spectacular special effects. This attraction is so spooky, they even advise adults with heart or respiratory conditions, claustrophobia or other health conditions to sit this one out.
