6000 East Valencia Rd., Davis-Monthan Air Force Base, Tucson, AZ

If you have family members interested in aeronautics, they are going to love the Pima Air and Space Museum! The museum is a non-profit private museum, sitting directly across the street from Davis-Monthan Air Force Base. There are approximately 300 different aircraft onsite and a variety of interactive exhibits, perfect for the kids. The main hangar off the entrance is quite large with a variety of aircraft. Families can find a lot to do just in this space. Right off this area, you’ll find a small café and an outdoor kids’ play area. You’ll also find a huge outdoor area with an incredible variety of planes parked. In addition to these areas, there are more indoor hangars and a space gallery. A variety of tours, including the famous “Boneyard”, are also available depending on the day of the week, time of day, and time of the year. The museum is open seven days a week, 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. (closed Thanksgiving and Christmas days). Children under age 5 are free to enter.
