This “Spanish Village” is visited by every school child of Barcelona and its surrounding areas as a large, outdoor museum made up of buildings to represent life in Spanish at various periods of time. Built for the Barcelona International Exhibition in 1929, the village stands as an architectural museum of 117 buildings, streets and squares built to showcase a model Spanish village of various areas in Spain, such as Valencia, Catalonia, Madrid or the Balearic Islands. For children, visit on Sundays, when they can participate in workshops and participate in activities like parades, puppet shows or story time. Picnics are allowed, but restaurants are on location.
