Ring of Kerry Hibernia Adventures

Tralee, County Kerry, Ireland

Anyone visiting Ireland should take the scenic and utterly gorgeous drive around the Ring of Kerry. The two-lane road twists and turns through heavily wooden national forests with waterfalls, climbing mountains, expansive scenic overlooks, and beachside passageways. However, kids may not be as equally impressed with a drive that can take at least three hours, if you can avoid tour bus traffic. Villages dotting the drive makes for great snack and lunch stops, and a chance to meet locals eager to give their insight into their towns, but again, kids may not be impressed. That’s why combining the drive with adventure tours can give parents the Ring views, and kids something to write home about.

Hibernia Adventures provides tours of the Ring of Kerry and the Dingle Peninsula on mountain bike, kayak, horseback and high-speed boat, and even provides rock-climbing adventures. Tours leave the Killarney Tourist Office early mornings Wednesdays through Saturdays and provide unique tours of Dingle Harbour, Puffin Island, the Gap of Dunloe and Ventry Beach. The group also provides driving tours around the Ring, if you’re not brave enough to handle the roads yourself.
