Family Activities:

Santa Cruz Marina

Attraction

Several boat tours leave from Huatulco’s Santa Cruz Marina and explore the many bays of Huatulco. Transportation to the marina is often included, but snorkeling gear may be an additional cost, depending which tour you take. Most of the boats are large catamaran style and feature drinks, bottled water, music and a bilingual tour guide onboard.

Admire the water views as you motor along the Pacific Ocean and into the bays. Rock formations (stone face, actually looks like a face craved in the side of a cliff), sea turtles, dolphins and numerous fish are almost guaranteed to be seen during a boat tour of Huatulco. The boats usually stop for snorkeling at a secluded beach only accessible by boat, which makes for ideal snorkeling. Spend time exploring the sea, swimming or sunbathing on the beach before hopping back onboard the boat.

Tour Length

The tour lasts all day, about seven hours (depending on your tour company).

Dining

Many of the boat tours will stop at Maguey Bay for lunch during the tour. Lunch is usually an additional cost.

Things to Know

Make sure to apply your sunscreen prior to boarding the boat. Once inside the Huatulco National Park waterways, it is hazardous to the environment to apply sunscreen. Bring a hat, beach towel, money and change of clothes.
