Back in the day, seals found their way to the warm sand on the coast of a small seaside town in California. Now, Seal Beach no longer sees the cute aquatic mammals, but it does see lots of families. Seal Beach in Orange County is known for sandcastle building, kite surfing and swimming. Free parking, restrooms and picnic tables are available and lifeguards are on duty. On Wednesday evenings during the summer season, a local concert series is held on the beach and it is free for all.
Seal Beach is open daily from 4:30 a.m. to 10 p.m.
