Here is where the surf-crazed visitors head first on this part of the coast. It is famous for its gnarly waves and the surfing competitions that result. Non-surfers can avoid the sometimes-wild scene at other beaches away from the inlet, which is also a hot spot for fishing. In fact, the park holds a small museum devoted to the area’s commercial and recreational fishing history. It also offers camping, but reserve early. A small café and nice picnic facilities accommodate hungry families.
Hours: Park open 24 hours daily.
