Seven Mile Bridge

Mile Marker 47, Marathon, 33050, FL

Seven Mile Bridge connects Knight’s Key (part of Marathon, Fla.) with Little Duck Key. At the time it was built, Seven Mile Bridge was one of the longest in existence, and part of Henry Flagler’s famous railroad, constructed from 1909 to 1912. When the railroad was destroyed by the Labor Day Hurricane of 1935, the U.S. Government acquired the bridge and had it refurbished for automobile use. Today, it is popular with cyclists, runners, and, of course, tourists.
