Similar to Coronado Beach — and just a few miles away — Silver Strand State Beach is a pleasant stretch of white sand, and one that rarely feels crowded. Windsurfers, kite boarders and boogie boarders frequent the area, which is often windy and therefore provides near-perfect waves. Free parking is available, as are lifeguards, bathrooms and outdoor showers, and restaurants are a short drive into town.
Silver Strand State Beach also offers RV campgrounds, complete with picnic areas, barbecue pits, fire rings and even a convenience store.
