Skaket Beach

Skaket Beach

Skaket Beach Street, Orleans, MA

Skaket is one of the best kid-friendly beaches in Cape Cod. The beach itself is very clean, and perfect for walks, sandcastle building, tossing around a frisbee or football, or just laying out a beach towel and lazily lounging around.

The water is beautiful and never exceeds a depth of 4 or 5 feet, which is excellent for anyone who needs to keep a watchful eye on their youngsters.

Aside from the excellent high-tide swimming, Skaket Beach is also known for its low-tide fun. Families love walking for what seems like miles on the tidal flats, and kids go crazy for all the small tidal pools left in the sand, which are often filled with small crabs, fish and the occasional sea star.

If the kids don’t get too tired or hungry, try to stick around until sunset. The sky and water fill with a vibrant spectrum of blues, purples, reds and oranges; a serene scene your family won’t soon forget!
