The Sparks Heritage Museum offers families a look into the history and culture of the area surrounding Lake Tahoe. Kids will enjoy seeing a vintage steam engine, a restored one-room schoolhouse and more. Tours of the train and museum are offered on Saturday between 1 and 4 p.m.

The museum is open Tuesday to Friday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturday from 1 to 4 p.m. Children ages 12 and under receive free admission.
