Located 17 miles from downtown Fayetteville, Terra Studios is a 6-acre art park with gardens and a gallery. Just outside the gallery and gift shop, you’ll find giant games of chess and checkers, plus some hula hoops for all to try. Across the pond from the gallery and gift shop, there is a collection of playhouses where children can explore.
If you head up the hill to the gardens, you’ll find paths where you can walk and see the troll sculptures, as well as the stone labyrinth. As you wander the property, take time to enjoy the various art pieces scattered throughout the grounds. Some are beautiful, some are humorous, and some are, well, interesting.
Inside the gallery and gift shop, you’ll find items for sale, plus a cafe (be sure to take a look at the tables in the booths even if you don’t dine here). On the tables in the cafe area, there are color sheets and crayons available for visitors. Terra Studios also holds a number of demonstrations and classes, so check the website for the most current offerings during your visit.
Note: Terra Studios is known for its Bluebird of Happiness, a small glass art piece. If you see a brochure at your hotel or area visitors centers, pick one up. Many include a coupon for a free gift, which is a miniature Bluebird of Happiness. You will need one coupon per person for each member of your family to receive the free gift.
Open daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Closed Thanksgiving, Christmas Day and New Year’s Day. Also closed during inclement weather, so call before heading over if the weather looks tricky.
