The University of Arizona campus in Tucson is one of three large state universities in Arizona. It’s a major draw for families visiting Tucson, both for college visits and campus events like football, basketball, theater, and more. The campus itself is easy to walk around, with many older buildings and nice landscaping. Old Main is an original campus building. Sports enthusiasts might be interested in tours of the basketball arena and/or football stadium. Families interested in native Arizona and Southwest cultures can stop by the Arizona State Museum on campus — the oldest and largest anthropology museum in the Southwest. Children are free to enter the museum. Just off campus, there are a number of restaurants and shops.
