Wabasha Street Caves

215 Wabasha St S, Saint Paul, MN

While these manmade caves don’t have the show features of a natural cave, they are steeped in stories from St. Paul’s gangster era when Wabasha Street Caves hosted mobsters in its Castle Royal. On Thursday nights, the caves host swing night with dance lessons starting at 6:15 and live music from 7 to 10 p.m.

Take cash for admission, which is $8 for swing nights or $6 for 40-minute history tours that are scheduled throughout the year. If the stories spark an interest in St. Paul’s less-saintly side, there are more in-depth two-hour bus tours ($24 per person) of the city with costumed actors bringing the most infamous gangsters to life each weekend.
