Catch a boat to Wizard Island and spend a few hours hiking around the volcanic peak and clear bays (note that the trails are most suitable for older children). On warm days, you can cool off in the lake. Definitely don’t forget bug spray, though, or the mosquitoes will give you some souvenirs to take back with you.
