Attraction

Yankee Air Museum

47884 D Street, Belleville, 48111-1126, MI

Located at the Willow Run Airport about 30 minutes from Ann Arbor, the Yankee Air Museum is an aviation museum filled with history. Families will see restored aircraft of all shapes and sizes from WWI to the Vietnam and Korean wars. Kids can climb inside a cockpit and push every button possible. Young girls can learn about Rosie the Riveter and how women helped build planes during WWII at the Willow Run Bomber Plant.

At the Exploration Station, kids can get hands-on and build with foam blocks, play inside an aircraft or create an art project. There is also a flight simulator that both kids and adults will love to test out.

Families could spend a couple hours here exploring on their own or register for a guided tour.

In addition to the museum, families can take an actual flight in a C-47 Skytrain plane. Find more information on that here.
