A visit to Yosemite wouldn’t be complete without spending time at the stunning Yosemite Falls, the fifth-tallest waterfall in the world and widely considered the centerpiece of the park. The lower falls are easily accessible via a paved trail, but reaching the upper falls requires a more strenuous hike. Also consider that the intensity of the water varies based on what time of year you go: peak runoff generally occurs from May-June as the last of the snow melts, but by August it might decrease to barely a trickle. Of course, the scenery is stunning all year round, but if your trip is in late summer, don’t disappoint the kids by promising them a huge waterfall!
