Located less than 20 minutes outside of Lafayette, this child-size zoo (formerly called Zoo of Acadiana) is ideal for younger kids and offers more than one might expect. Lions, monkeys, giraffe, birds, otters, llamas and more than 750 other animals are live here. The 45-acre park has families following walking paths to view the different species. In addition to the fun-loving animals, there is also a petting zoo where kids can feed the llamas. There are also opportunities to feed the giraffes and parakeets. There is a playground area; a Jungle Room filled with frogs, lizards and snakes; and a Safari Train Ride, which costs an additional $3 to ride. The ZooLive Animal Show (additional $2 cost) has the animals showing off their abilities. Weekday and weekend performance schedules vary.
