Great relaxing holiday

by Gzblfst_caia

I had a wonderful time at this resort.

It is an older traditional style of hotel and was very beautiful, although it’s so big I did get lost a few times during my first few days! The facilities are very good, with 3 restaurants a large pool a gym, spa and great and large beach side area.

The hotel room was large, comfortable and clean, with a big balcony although unfortunately I overlooked the car park...someone has to I guess!

The staff were very friendly and helpful, as my first solo traveller trip I was worried I’d feel a bit weird but I got chatting with some friendly staff and kept seeing them around which was nice.

What I enjoyed most about this resort was I basically used it as a health and fitness holiday the resort offers 7am yoga classes 3 days a week, aqua aerobics at noon every day, then I used the gym in the evening. I had planned on going to the spa too but managed to get sun burned on my back so was sad I didn’t get a massage but the spa area looked lovely and wasn’t too expensive.

The only negative was food-wise as a vegan there was very limited choices. There lots of hotels nearby but that didn’t really interest me. The closest place for food was a nice ‘square’ with a few shops etc A 5 minute drive away, the hotel Leaflets said there was a bus to take guests there but each day I asked about it I was told the bus was broken. This meant the option was to walk 25 minutes in the dark unlit area or just stay in the hotel.

Also be aware you can’t charge hotel purchases to your room and pay at the end of your holiday. Instead they ask you to set up an account with approximately £200 at the start of your trip which you can then use in the hotel restaurant etc. Because I already had a hundred pounds worth of Balinese money I didn’t do this as I needed to spend the currency but it was just a bit awkward as it then meant when I ran out I had to find a currency converter place to change more money...the hotel has one bit as with most hotels the exchange rate wasn’t quite as good.

I would definitely recommend this hotel if sun and relaxation are your plan.

Very old, dated rooms

by Milovilo

Disappointed in rooms, they have musty smell and dated furniture. Stains on couch. Doesn’t feel 5 star.
You can get better rooms for a better price elsewhere..
The pools are just ok, no swim up bar.
The beach is nice and the garden is nice.
Keep in mind it’s a big hotel so walking back to lobby, pool etc from room is quite far (when you forget your book and have to go back!)
Staff are friendly.
Mould in shower and very hard to step in and out of bath for a shower it’s so high. Wouldn’t recommend for older people to stay here.
