We thought this would feel like a nice national park lodge. It was nothing like that. It felt like staying in a 1970s motel. And not in a good way. We had a ground floor room. There was a sliding glass door that was only feet away from a very busy street. Could not open the curtains because the thousands of people could (and did) look right into our room. The furnishings were quite dated and seemed to be from decades ago. The lighting was really bad. Even with all of the lights on in the room, we still needed torches on cell phones to look for things in our bags, etc. In fact, the only lights were 1) a ceiling light over the door which did no good in the room, and 2) a dining room style ceiling light in a far corner of the room.
Do yourself a favor. Stay elsewhere.

Stayed one night in August 2019. Great location in Banff. Minutes away from downtown, as well as the river trail.
This is a pricey hotel, mainly due to the location. The rooms are dated but the bathroom, especially the shower is pretty decent. I actually had a good night sleep bearing in mind I was ground level facing the road. The only traffic noise I noticed was a delivery truck’s reversing beeper in the morning (I was already awake).
The pool is really good. I went late in the evening (open until midnight) and then first thing before check out.
Onsite parking is underground, where there are plenty of spaces. You actually notice how huge the resort when you are down there. Make sure you park near the elevator for your block.
Overall the hotel did grow on me during my stay. I think for the price you pay, they should provide the WiFi complimentary, even if it’s a basic speed for messaging and then charge for a premium speed.
If they gave the rooms a little refurb, this would be a good 4 star hotel.
