A Pleasant Resort In A Beautiful Setting

by John E

Enjoyed five days at the resort. The 18 mile walking trail on old railroad right-of-way, the Bearskin Trail, was a short walk from the resort and a quick drive into the town of Minocqua. Our unit had two bedrooms and a full and a half bath, nice sitting room with a gas fireplace and a view of Lake Minocqua and a fully equipped kitchen with a table that could seat six. Nice pool area with a whirlpool and a sauna and a game room The entire staff was professional and welcoming. Even though the resort is a time-share there was no pressure to become an owner. We used a trade from another resort to stay here and were very pleased and would return again.

Poorly run resort

We rented a 2 bedroom cabin for our family vacation for 6 people. We were very disappointed in how clean and dated the cabin was. We were not aware that we could not get fresh towels daily or even a couple times a week, you can only exchange them on Weds. and you have to carry them yourselves up to the main lodge to get them. We had laundry available in our cabin but were not allowed to use it as it was padlocked. We then carried our dirty things up to the lodge to wash and realized the machines did not work. Amongst other things that were not acceptable we tried to address them with the manager Jackie. She was extremely rude and condescending to us, saying "this is how things are done in the North Woods". We paid $400 per night for our cabin and the amenities were terrible as was customer service. Beautiful area with lots to offer but I would never stay there again nor recommend it.
