The Best U.S. Beaches for Families in 2014

Family Vacation Critic shares its annual list of the Best Beaches, offers tips for families

Pennington, NJ – April 24, 2014 – According to a recent survey*, summer beach trips are the most popular vacation choice for families traveling in 2014. With so many great beaches across the U.S., Family Vacation Critic narrows down the choices with its annual list of the Best Beaches for Families.

“Choosing a beach destination is much more complicated for groups traveling with kids,” says Lissa Poirot, editor of Family Vacation Critic. “It’s not just looking for sand, sun and water – families are looking for destinations that offer convenience, safety and cleanliness. Our readers have shared that their top priority is staying close to the beach – families want to be in the center of the action and close enough to easily walk to the beach. They also want to feel confident in knowing that the beach and its waters are safe and clean for the entire family.”

This year’s list of the Best Beaches for Families includes:

o Coronado, CA: Coronado Municipal Beach
Insider Tip for Families: There are tide pools located at the rocky sea break by the Hotel del Coronado, ideal for young swimmers. There are also fire pits located on the northernmost stretch of sand on Coronado Beach – perfect for S’mores.
