With movie theaters temporarily closing due to the COVID-19 outbreak, several new release movies will be available to stream at home for a fee.
These early-release movies are best for families with teens, as they’re all rated PG13, but we included a few rated R movies, too, for older teens or for parents to enjoy after the kids go to bed. We also have a list of early-release family movies for younger kiddos, too. These streaming, new-release movies will be made available to rent for a 48-hour rental window at a cost of $19.99 per movie. Pop some popcorn, turn down the lights and snag the best seat on the couch for these new blockbusters.
1. The Call of the Wild
A domestic dog’s life gets turned upside down when he is suddenly transplanted to the Alaskan Yukon in the 1890s as the newest member of a mail-delivery dog sled team.
2. Impractical Jokers: The Movie
The movie tells the story of the humiliating high school mishap from 1992 that sent the Jokers down the road of competing in hidden-camera challenges.
3. I Still Believe
This true-life story of Christian music star Jeremy Camp shows his journey of love and loss that proves there is always hope.
4. Just Mercy
A world-reowned civil rights defense attorney, Bryan Stevenson (played by Michael B. Jordan) works to free a wrongly convicted death row prisoner (played by Jamie Foxx) in Just Mercy.
If you like the 90s movie Clueless, you’ll love Emma! Set in 1800s England, Emma is a well-meaning, but selfish young woman who meddles in the love lives of her friends.
An elite solider who is killed in battle is brought back to life in Bloodshot, with technology that gives him the ability of super human strength and fast healing. With his new found abilities, he goes after the man who he believes killed his wife. But who can really be trusted?
7. The Way Back
A former high school basketball start forfeited his future when he walked away from the game years ago. When he reluctantly accepts a coaching job at his alma mater, he may get another shot at redemption.
A married couple is thrown into disarray after barely escaping an avalanche during a family ski trip in the Alps. They have to reevaluate their lives and decide how they feel about each other.
9. Bad Boys for Life
Bad Boys (starring Will Smith and Martin Lawrence) are back together for one last ride.
10. Birds of Prey and the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn
The city is turned upside down in Birds of Prey when a target is put on a young girl’s back and four superheroes have to team up to save the girl and track down the villain.
11. The Gentlemen
An American expat tries to sell his profitable marijuana empire in London and it triggers many different bribery schemes and more in The Gentlemen.
12. The Invisible Man
This horror-flick starring Elisabeth Moss has her trying to prove she’s being haunted by someone nobody can see.
13. The Hunt
Twelve strangers wake up in a clearing in The Hunt and don’t know why they’re there or how they got there. But they’ve been chosen for a very specific purpose.
14. Big Time Adolescence
A teen comes of age under the destructive guidance of his best friend, an aimless college dropout in the Big Time Adolescence.
