Temperatures are beginning to rise as we head into spring, so naturally we're turning our attention to the pools, waterslides, lazy rivers and more at these water parks, expected to open in 2017.

Lazy River Rendering at Volcano Bay

Volcano Bay - Orlando
We can hardly wait to visit Volcano Bay, expected to debut on May 25. The newest (and wettest) addition to Universal Orlando Resort will feature swimming pools, spraygrounds, waterslides and even a water coaster called Krakatau Aqua Coaster. Other unique elements will include "tap-to-play" interactive features, an authentic-looking volcano with "lava" (as the centerpiece of the park) and -- get this -- virtual lines! You'll be able to play in other areas of the park while you wait for the rides; wearable technology will alert you when it's your turn. Whoa!

H20BX - Powells Point, N.C.
When it's time for a break from the beach or your vacation rental pool, head to H20BX, a new water park to open in the Outer Banks! The park, which spans a whopping 80 acres, will feature several waterslides (including small kids' tube slides), a pirate-themed play area, a family raft ride, two wave pools and a FlowRider surfing simulator. Kids will also love the Adventure Lagoon, where they'll be able to climb across various structures, and parents will appreciate the cabana rentals. The park will have four dining options, as well.

Cedar Point Water Park

Cedar Point Shores Waterpark - Sandusky, Ohio
As if you didn't have enough reasons to visit "The Roller Coaster Capital of the World," Sandusky's Cedar Point has announced Shores Waterpark, an enhancement to the former Soak City. The 18-acre water park's newest features will include three wild waterslides and Lakeslide Landing, a sprayground for families with young children. The park will offer cabanas and dining options, of course.

The Wave - Dublin, Calif.
Dublin, California will soon welcome The Wave, part mega water park, part aquatics center. The Wave will offer six waterslides, three pools, a water playground and, best of all, the AquaDrop, in which riders will be sent through a trap door before plummeting down a vertical slide.
