Construction Poorly Communicated

by lyransi

We were told upon check-in that our room was being swapped for a room far from the construction noise since we were told construction was being done exclusively on the top floors. However, we were woken up early in the morning the 2nd day to incessant drilling sounds from seemingly right above our ceiling. The construction continued the entire morning only breaking for lunch. We asked the front desk about the construction situation above our room and were told that construction was actually happening on our entire side of the building and that no other rooms were available for us to switch to. I mentioned that we were told upon check-in by a different associate that we were supposed to be nowhere near the construction but the associate we were speaking with simply said that assertion was inaccurate and was not at all apologetic about our situation. The associate that originally checked us in and told us we'd get a quiet room also never turned to look at us during this entire conversation. As such, we felt that we were simply set up to stay in the middle of all the construction.

Close to Shops

The hotel was just right and close to Shops and Waikiki beach. When in Hawaii go for the long walks along the beach, Diamond Head and other areas with amazing scenery. Try locally prepared food and snacks.
