Dissapointed

by Joeanne R

We are currently staying at Blue Point. We booked this place for the advertised infinity pool with sunset views.
On arrival we discovered the pool has been emptied and sold to Single fin. Had we known this, we would have booked somewhere else. I have been advised by staff that the pool “should” reopen in December.

The rooms are ok but the bathrooms are shocking. Mold, chipped tiles, throughout the whole bathroom. Shampoo and conditioner provided has been wartered down.
Aircon is cold.
We are in a superior room that overlooks a vacant property with rubbish scattered through it. If you can afford to pay a little extra, I would highly advise to.
We had to sign a waiver on checkin to not leave anything on the balcony due to Wild Monkeys. I felt very unsafe just sitting out there.

Complementary breakfast is ok. Views from breakfast are amazing looking over the surfing break. Also air conditioned inside.

If you don’t want to party with the young ones at single fin, there is a balcony above single fin (blue terrace) that is much more relaxed with awesome views of the sunset. Same price structure as Single fin. Bintang $6.50 each. Small bottle.

The pool at the back of the property opens at 10am, so don’t plan on an early morning swim.

Overall, location in great but all buildings are run down and need to be refurbished or knocked down.

SO DISSAPOINTING

This was my 5th visit to this resort.
I go because I like the pool - and I like the new suites (not the old ones).

unfortunately when I turned up they told me its under new management, the pool is no longer theirs, and the suites are GONE! had they informed me before travel I would have cancelled.

So the famous pool is still being advertised as theirs - when its not. It belongs to
single fin bar next door and is now more like a beach club. hotel guests are allowed to use the pool for free - however its horrible.
its just young people drinking and loud music -- and of course the japanese weddings every 5 minutes.

note - the inland pool that belongs to the hotel is actually lovely and quiet. it just doesn't have that epic view!

So any suites or villas have gone ! ?? weird. another fire perhaps ??
the super old building inland is still there with the gross old rooms. they are cheap - but disgusting. don't stay in these.
it seems there are a couple of buildings left of the new suites (maybe 8 suites in total) (they are goergous) - BUT WOW they are are far away! too far in the heat!

The reception area is still lovely, as is the buffet breakfast (wow that view).

Staff at reception as usual are rude. its the language barrier that seems like they are being rude. but its also that they seem unhappy and not willing to help, they couldn't give a damn if ur happy or not!

AS FOR THE MANAGER - WHAT AN UNPROFESSIONAL RUDE INDIVIDUAL! I couldn't walk that far to my room as I have MS and he was horrible. My only option to was to downgrade significantly to a closer room but he refused to refund any price difference, It was a total disaster and ended with me in tears!

Visit Single Fin, Suluban beach, and the village for a day trip is my recommendation.

And finally, this is the first time I have encountered the monkey problem here. It is a serious problem. Sitting on my balcony I was startled by a family of monkeys coming at me showing their teeth. I luv monkeys but was petrified as they came in my room. I threw shoes in their direction and was finally able to close my doors. these stayed closed the whole time! Geez if one of these bites or scratches you ur in trouble!
