Best Smelling Hotel

by travelingtx85

As soon as you walk through the door you a greeted by an amazing smell. Come to find out this is from the hotel candle that you can also purchase. This hotel as you can tell is a little different on the decor, but all the staff we have encountered have been very pleasant. We are once in the restaurant downstairs and it was good. We visited the rooftop a few times just for the views. We had a corner room on the river side but asked to see a larger room on the city side and the staff was happy to show us since the room was vacant. The larger room looked great and had lots of windows but I love watching the ships go by so we stayed in our original room. Shower is a great size and hotel soaps are amazing. Can’t wait to return to Savannah and the Bohemian.

Wanted to love this place, but...

Stayed here hoping to have a really wonderful experience, but left feeling very disappointed. Despite the decor being interesting and modern, I think the hotel fell short in service and cleanliness. Our original room (king, corner) was no longer available when we arrived due to a "leak". We were placed in another room on the 8th floor facing river views, however, the 8th floor sits just below the rooftop bar so there is lots of activity and some noise. Tried the rooftop bar before dinner and found ourselves sitting there (at the actual bar) for at least 15 minutes before being greeted by any bar staff. Ordered an appetizer (truffle fries, which I am sure are terrific WHEN HOT) and watched it sit on the pass through for a good 5-10 minutes before asking our waitress to check on them for us. The attitude and service from that point on was downhill. Room was nice, but floor looked overlooked for cleaning. I would not bother to stay here again. There are much nicer places with better staff in this area versus paying this kind of price. Hate to give such a poor review, and I rarely feel I have to, but this hotel can stand some improvements in several areas.
