Overview

Often ranked as one of the best lodges in the world, the all-inclusive Bristol Bay Lodge offers family fishing vacations with a twist. There are eight spacious rooms in the main building and four comfortable cedar cabins on the property, all with two double beds in each bedroom. The main lodge includes a kitchen, dining room and great-room with a fireplace, bar, library and tackle shop. You’ll love the hot tub and sauna, especially after a day of fishing. The lodge’s professional chef prepares hearty meals at breakfast and dinner, while lunches are either packed to go or prepared by your guide at some remote fishing spot.

It’s those remote locations that make Bristol Bay Lodge a special experience. Every day, you will be shuttled to one of six different and spectacular fishing destinations. Two of these are remote overnight camps, where you’ll spend time fishing rivers and streams in complete solitude before enjoying a gourmet meal and bedding down in a tent that is well appointed, comfortable and safe. These overnight camps, seemingly at the end of the world, are what make Bristol Bay Lodge one of the most memorable fishing experiences your family can have in Alaska. Best for older kids, perhaps 12 and up, the guides are more than happy to teach beginners to catch all sorts of fish. The location of the lodge, on the beautiful Lake Aleknagik, and the unique fishing experiences they provide, are what makes Bristol Bay Lodge such a great choice for your family vacation to Alaska.

Outstanding Experience

by PfefferJava

We spent 3 nights with clients at BBL in late July. From booking, to arrival, to departure…Steve and team communicate and adapt as needed. The outpost camps, the variety of fishing and the diversity of terrain are spectacular and memorable. As an added bonus we were there during the unadvertised Nashville song writers week…much fun for sure. The staff, pilots and guides are very good and accommodate where needed to ensure you fishing and wilderness experience both exhilarating and safe. The fishing itself was great and the solitude was lovely. For us, BBL is definitely worth a repeat and sending other clients to BBL as well.

Once in a lifetime experience (hopefully not just once!)

Incredible experience during family week
My adult son and I had a once in a lifetime experience at Bristol Bay Lodge. The lodge is spectacular in a dramatic Alaskan setting. The staff, including lodge staff, guides and pilots were all helpful, knowledgeable and congenial. The fishing in late July was superb for Chums, Pinks, some Silvers, as well as Dolly’s and Rainbows. The added bonus was the family atmosphere with moms, dads and sons and daughters. The other added bonus was the “Nashville” week with Steve’s brother and other musicians providing evening entertainment. The food was excellent as was the well stocked bar and wine selections. Personally, we both loved best the trips to the overnight camps, Rainbo (no W!) and Birch.
