Great location, but construction noise was awful.

You honestly cannot beat the location of this hotel. Being right across the street from Disney springs. However that is where the benefits of this hotel and. I understand that all hotels have a resort fee on top of the nightly rates, but to have to pay for parking on top of that fee is ridiculous. Being woken up at 7:45am by housekeeping (yes, the DND tag was on the door), was a first for us. Also the construction sounds that were supposed to stop at 5pm, did not end until close to 7pm and the paint fume smell was horrible. No offer to change rooms either. I am sure once the construction is done, it will be very nice, but I would avoid the Island Building until then.

Old, advertised wrong, and front desk issues.

We went for a weekend stay after having booked a one bedroom suite boasting great views and renovation. First let’s cover the room. Yes, it is updated, in parts. However some of the furniture was quite worn and the bathroom was old as old can be. I am not sure why the shower, tub etc. we’re not updated. And the view- I looked out at nothing. A tree and part of a box. No view at all.

I did read reviews about noise. The noise I experienced was not so much from thin walls but from a group of drunks girls shrieking on their balcony. This isn’t Vegas people. However I guess you must expect to hear noise.

The part that was really annoying was the front desk. We arrived at 10am and they said the system was down but we were on to get a text when our room was ready. By almost 4pm we hadn’t heard so we checked back. They said nothing was free yet because they had a note I required to be next to a relative on the same floor. I never made that request- someone noted the wrong account. So now I waited until 4pm with a baby in tow because the front desk didn’t pay attention.

Honestly for the price of the room and the service I would have rather stayed at a real Disney hotel. This, to me, did not count. I’ve done better at random chain hotels on road trips. Not cool!
