Still a good hotel

by April L

My husband & I stayed here again on Thanksgiving weekend. Our first time staying & booking on our own outside of a group booking. Daily room rates were still very good for the downtown area.
The room wasn't as clean as it usually is. Surfaces hadn't been cleaned & the shower looked like it was just wiped down but I've seen much worse & the sheets were at least clean.
We tried room service for the first time during this stay. Basic bacon & eggs breakfasts were over $20 each & if you want it brought to your room there's a delivery charge so we just went down & picked it up.
Everything was cold so that was unfortunate. The bacon we both ordered extra crispy wasn't even close, the hashbrowns were like really big tater tot cubes & I think they had the potential to be really good but besides being cold they were either old or overcooked because they were rock hard on the outside. The "white" toast was sour dough bread which shouldn't be considered white since it has a taste that clashes with breakfast spreads.
Still a good stay overall though

Love love love

This was a great stay. I had a rough flight in and was not feeling great. Coming to this hotel made it so much better. Front desk staff was so nice at check in. The room was great. Nicely appointed, very comfortable, and I definitely took advantage of the tea in the room. It's in a great area as there were great restaurant options near by, although I was definitely tempted to get room service - menu looked good!

I love the barn door for the bathroom and everything is so clean and cozy. Had a good night sleep, especially with the blackout curtains. We ordered room service the next day and it was awesome. You can choose to pick up your food as well and avoid the delivery charge, but I chose to take it easy. I loved the packaging that the food came in. Made it really easy to bring into the room and just unpack as I like. We got oatmeal and toast, I know that's not the most exciting but I loved it. So many jams, butter, and PB. Loved the packaging so much, very premium.

I also loved the 12pm checkout. It was awesome to sleep in and take our time the next day. We wanted to browse downtown for a bit as our hotel in Canmore didn't have check in available until 4pm. The front desk staff again were amazing, and were totally willing to check both our suitcases and backpacks and even asked if we'd like the car ready at a certain time (we used the valet the night before). We walked around and came back just before 2 and the car was ready for us. It was easy to collect the bags and head off to the next stop.

I loved this hotel, the service, and the City Centre area. Would love to come back and stay here again.
