Overview

For one of the best wilderness experiences you can have in Alaska, look no further than Camp Denali, a collection of 18 rustic cabins built on a forested hillside inside Denali National Park. These are not luxury accommodations. However, each hand-crafted cabin is clean, comfortable, and authentic to its surroundings, with no running water or electricity. Ideal for a small family, each cabin has combinations of queen and twin beds. A larger family can easily book adjacent cabins. Kids will absolutely love the private outhouse a few steps from your cabin. These are the cleanest, most sanitary outhouses you’ve ever seen. Lights are run on propane, and drinking water comes out of a spigot in the ground. A short walk up the hill from your cabin is the beautiful lodge and dining hall, where you’ll also find a newly built shower room. The gourmet meals, included with your stay, are a big highlight, and feature fresh ingredients from the camp’s greenhouses and local sources. Boxed lunches are prepared for guests going out on daily hikes and other excursions.

Camp Denali is located 90 miles beyond the Denali National Park Visitor Center. Private cars are not allowed this far into the park, so you’ll be shuttled to your cabin from the Denali Train Depot. Every cabin looks out over Moose Creek, with Wonder Lake in the near distance and Denali, the highest mountain peak in North America, looming just beyond. The camp provides bikes, canoes and fishing gear to try on your own, but also offers three levels of guided hikes with trained naturalists who love to teach about the flora and fauna of the park. Most of all, this is the place to sit back and relax in one of the most beautiful settings you can imagine. Your family will love the rustic cabins, the secluded location and the gourmet meals at Camp Denali.

We have stayed at Camp Denali a lot - my husband about 20 times, me about 10. Love the cabins, the food, the staff & most of all the animals in Denali National Park & Preserve! We had wonderful weather & Mt. Denali was "out" 2 days & most of a night. Plus we say beautiful Northern Lights!

OMG!!!! I can't wait to go back - Talk about 5 Star !!!!

The service level was a complete joy. Everyone sincerely wanted to help you. Staff smiled, they were friendly and you knew you were in good hands. The food was amazing for every meal. You get to pack your own lunch from an amazing selection. About the outhouses. You get your own personal outhouse and it is super clean and the view from the heart shaped cut out is wonderful. The odor will bother you and the very cold toilet seat but that is the only negative part of the experience. And if that keeps large crowds from going to Camp Denali that is fine with me. We were lucky enough to see full on Denali for 2 days and partial views for the other 2 days. I would go back in a heart beat . (the service spoiled us for the rest of our trip)
