One of a very few family-friendly hotels in the quiet north end of El Paso, the brand-new Candlewood Suites hotel is a great option for those looking for a little bit of luxury at a budget price. Your family will love a suite with two queen beds and a full sleeper sofa in the separate sitting room. You also get a fully equipped kitchen, which includes a full-size refrigerator, stovetop, microwave, coffee maker, toaster, dishwasher, and enough pots, pans, dishes, and utensils to cook up any meal you want. Rooms also come with free Wi-Fi, a DVD player, and a large desk to use as workspace, or toyspace if your kids have any say. Check the huge DVD library in the lobby for free movie rentals. They also have a nice 24-hour convenience store stocked with snacks and beverages.
The Candlewood Suites is located about 10 miles north of the El Paso Airport. It may feel isolated from the city, but you can zip down to any major attraction in 10-15 minutes. Right around the hotel are several major grocery stores, fast-food and casual restaurants, and even a multi-screen movie theater. You’re directly across the street from the unique National Border Patrol Museum, where you learn about the history of the U.S. Border Patrol from its beginning in the Old West, through Prohibition, and into the high-tech Patrol of today. Admission is free. Drive south a few miles to ride the Wyler Aerial Tramway, a short gondola ride to the top of Ranger Peak and the best views of three states and two countries. The El Paso Zoo, with its wide range of exotic animals, is only 15 minutes from your hotel. The Candlewood Suites may be a bit further off than most hotels in town, but its large suites, full kitchens, and friendly staff make it a best choice for your family vacation to El Paso.

I've stayed in a lot of Candlewood Suites and this one exceeded my expectations. My room was clean, comfortable, quiet. I love being able to use the washer & dryer free of charge, that's a plus. Every staff member is so friendly & helpful, really made me feel welcome & that my needs were being met. What really surprised me was the breakfast in the morning. Cereals, fruit, bagels and even a pancake machine. But on Monday & Thursday nights.........a hot dinner. And the menu varies each week. That is definitely something I've never had at any Candlewood. I loved it.........loved the whole experience. This definitely my place to stay when I'm in El Paso.
I'm on a road trip passing through El Paso and I was so lucky to have found this hotel. Upon check in, the gentleman at the front desk was lovely and got me checked in quickly. The room itself is spacious and comes complete with a kitchenette area which I didn't use, but would be great for travelers staying longer term.
The room is incredibly clean, the views are great of the mountains close by, and they're pet friendly ($25 per pet) without having excessive fees. AC unit is quiet, bathroom is great, and the bed sheets are SO soft.
My only suggestion is that if you're sensitive to upstairs noise, make sure to get a room on the top floor, as you can hear every footstep above you.
I'd definitely stay here again!
