The Casa Gangotena started out as a prestigious family estate and was later transformed into a stunning boutique hotel in the heart of Quito. The hotel mainly caters to adults, but is happy to provide extra beds and special menu items for young travelers. While the Gangotena doesn’t have an onsite pool, the Granilandia Water Park is nearby for cooling off on sweltering summer afternoons. Quito is the only capital city in the world located at the base of an active volcano. Guests can visit the Cotopaxi Nature Reserve for unrivaled views of the Pichincha Volcano, and nine other volcanos!

We stayed at Casa Gangotena for a couple of nights before going on to the Galapagos - it’s fabulous. Girgeous building and really beautiful inside too. The service was second to none and the whole experience was a delight. It’s right next to the most spectacular San Francisco Cathedral overlooking a lovely square - we loved it.

Service was outstanding!
Nice view from our table to the "atrio of San Francisco". I love Quito! My city!
