Excellent food

by Sue G

Food here was superb starting with the salsa made at our table of fresh ingredients. We shared a vegetarian dish of cauliflower and a delicious sauce and I had the braised beef with sauce that turned it into a thick soup consistency...yum! The terrace was full, so we ate in the bar which was small and comfortable.

Dining on the terrasse while it was pouring rain outside.

While in Oaxaca for Dia de Muertos festival, most nice restaurants were booked. We were fortunate enough to get a reservation in this restaurant and to dine on the terrasse. The ambiance was intimate yet casual, mostly because of the soft lighting. We looked out to the Church of Santo Domingo.

The server made the salsa at our table. He used tomatoes, onion, lime, cilantro, jalopeno pepper and the secret ingredient...deep fried grasshoppers. Delicious and you can't even taste the grasshoppers if you have an aversion to them.

For dinner, my husband had a chicken dish while I had a seafood soup, again made at the table using hot stones to heat up the broth and cooking the seafood. It was quit a production...but delicious.

The food will be delicious regardless of what you order and the atmosphere will be even more enjoyable on the terrasse.
