Trip of a Lifetime

by Towyn R

Staying at Celtic Mist turned out to be the highlight of my trip to Alaska. I could not have wished for anything more. From the beautiful comfortable house and gardens, the location, to the warm friendly welcome from Rowland and his dogs, this was the perfect place to stay for my time in Kodiak.
I could walk from the house to nearby rivers, lakes and the bay for amazing fishing and wildlife viewing. Catching Salmon and seeing Bears was something I had wanted to do in Alaska but didn't think I would be doing both at the same time 10 minutes walk from where I was staying.
Rowland was an amazing host. I could have listened to his fascinating stories of his adventures all day long. (I don't think they make people like him anymore) His knowledge and advice enabled me to have the trip of a lifetime and i will be forever grateful for this experience.
I felt so at home at Celtic Mist and would highly recommend staying there to anyone who wants a genuine experience in Kodiak. It is close enough to the town for everything you might need but far enough away to enjoy the peace and tranquillity of the island. (There are chain hotels available in town if that is what you are used to) My only regret was that I didn't stay longer. I will be returning again as soon as I can. THANKYOU.

Fishing in Kodiak

by 514alfj

The Celtic Mist B & B was perfect for our fishing trip. Road rivers are easily accessible and offers superb fishing opportunities. Rowland is a great host and a true British gent. He will hook you up with english breakfasts that are really good. He will also offer fishing tips and good conversations. Will definitely stay at the same B & B if I visit Kodiak again.
