Los Angeles, CA

Staying at Chateau Marmont is like stepping into a fairytale. This castle on the hill is an elegant resort, and the first earthquake-proof building, in Hollywood. The classy ambience features chic interiors with an “Old Hollywood” feel. Rooms, suites and bungalows have full kitchens, sitting areas or living rooms, dining rooms and private balconies. Depending on the layout, units offer up to three bedrooms and garden, poolside or penthouse locations. Babies are looked after at Chateau, with available Frette baby linens, cribs and babysitting services. Guests enjoy the Bar Marmont’s dining room and garden eating area that is open for all meals. Outside, there is a swimming pool that will draw kids’ attention.

Fantastic ambience but extremely noisy rooms...

by Robert D

First of all - the hotel is really fantastic with its architecture, history, clientel and ambience, BUT (!) the rooms, especially on the 1st floor, are inhabitable if you, like us, fly in from Europe and need a good nights sleep.

Having that said, the hotel as such is simply great !
We loved it that much last year that we booked it again this year inspite of the noisy rooms on the 1st floor. This small downside can however easily be managed by the staff upon booking; just make sure that all overseas guests are placed on any (!) floor but the 1st = problem solved ! Or if the owner invests in modern doors and windows (for the 1st floor rooms) for sufficient noise insulation.

We will most certainly book it next time again, but then make 100% sure we end up on the 2nd, 3rd or 4th floor. The hotel with its least to say original and fantastic inner yard is simply fantastic !

Delighted with our visit

We looked forward to experiencing this 1929 landmark, whose design was inspired by the Loire Château d'Amboise.

On a gorgeous sunny morning we took seats in the cool and grand courtyard. From the broad menu we chose a pair of egg breakfasts. Served by most attentive and pleasant staff, it was wonderful relaxing and enjoying the full atmosphere and ambiance.

A splendid commencement to another memorable day in LA.
