Great value!

More homestay than hotel, we had a great time at the Cleopatra soaking up the ambience of the spacious gardens and pool. Our host and the owner, Ghani, was hospitable, engaging and ever helpful. Recommend visitors arrange massages on the premises and take advantage of the snorkelling directly offshore. This is a budget priced destination with accommodation and service to match, but if you’re looking for a low intensity stay in Lovina it would be hard to beat the Cleopatra. Loved the fact that Ghani accepts or declines bookings to suit his lifestyle and we feel fortunate to have been the only guests during our visit.

Good for a quick stopover

The hotel grounds are beautiful, the gardens are well maintained and it was a joy to relax in them. The hotel is right on the beach with a pool to relax in. The restaurant serves simple Indonesian food and is well priced. It was difficult to find staff to help me. For example, trying to find a cold drink took quite a while. I walked around the grounds calling out but it took ages for anyone to help. There was no bottled water supplied in the room, I had to pay for it and again had to walk around the hotel trying to find someone to supply it. I stayed in a garden villa because it was the cheaper option. I didn't think the beachside rooms were worth the price. The rooms are nice Balinese style but very basic. Only soap and towels are provided but the water is nice and hot. There was no wi-fi from inside my room, I had to sit out in the garden. This wasn't a problem as the garden was gorgeous, just a little inconvenient at night time. This hotel is located about 2 kilometers from the town and there is no shuttle service so I walked several times. It takes about half an hour each way. I would suggest to the owner that a shuttle service to town would be helpful plus having a reception service available to help the guests get cold drinks would also make the stay more enjoyable. I was the only guest staying at the hotel at the time so maybe that affected the service levels.
