Misrepresentations galore

It’s important to calibrate your expectations before picking this place. Else, like us, you will have a disappointing experience. This is not a hotel or resort. It’s a timeshare listing excess capacity on websites like TripAdvisor and Expedia.

The room looked nothing like the photos on the website. There was almost zero sunlight. The bedroom had no windows and the balcony faced another building. It feels akin to a Comfortable prison at times.

Electrical appliances kept tripping and needed attention. The bathrooms lacked basic amenities like shampoo. Want any of that stuff? you got to buy it from an on-site shop for 3x the price!

Tap water in Cabo is not potable which leads one to reasonably expect water that is complimentary or for purchase. Not so simple. The “resort shop” does sell (overpriced) water but they are only open 8 am - 8 pm. Outside of those hours (like after a night out), you have to walk 10 mins to a nearby grocery store to buy WATER! Seriously, would it be so difficult to stock some of that overpriced water at the reception?

I’ll be coming back to Cabo but not this resort and highly recommend you to stay away if you value your hard earned vacation. The 2 stars are only for the wonderful staff. It’s not the service, it’s the business side that is rotten here. They are out to make money in any which way.

A resort without a resort atmosphere!!

I'm going to state up front that I generally don't like resorts (particularly all inclusives) and picked Club Cascadas specifically because it did not appear to be a "normal" cookie cutter resort. I was definitely not disappointed. Club Cascadas has a laid back atmosphere. The condo was very spacious and comfortable. I loved the built in niches in the walls and the artwork used to decorate. It was not cookie cutter at all. We would definitely return!

The restaurant margaritas are terrific (and 2 for 1 at happy hour). The restaurant food was decent. It was very convenient for breakfast, particularly if you're looking to start the day early. We ate there a couple of times and would do so again, but it was necessary to branch out to other restaurants for variety. There were several just down the beach which were easily walk able. The beach itself was beautiful and palapas were great and easy to access since it was the low season.

The only downside was our balcony... We were assigned room 202 in the main building. While the room itself was perfect, that balcony basically faced a concrete wall and the heat from the air conditioners which also sat on the balcony (tastefully covered so as not to detract from the decor) reflected off that wall. So, the balcony was basically unusable due to heat and there was really no view whatsoever. This was not an issue for as since our stay was brief and we did not spend much time in the room. Had our stay been a few days longer, this would have been an issue for us as we typically spend a lot of time on the balcony when we are relaxing.

To summarize we would definitely return to Club Cascades and we would recommend it to others. However, I would call the resort to book directly to ensure I understood what type of room and view I would have. When booking through a third party (which is what I did) or even on their own website, this information is not provided. I would likely have been willing to pay more for a better balcony layout and view had this information been available when I booked. Lesson learned!
