Overview

Many Club Med Resorts cater to families, with kids’ clubs and the brand’s iconic trapeze school program. The brand has even launched Creactive by Cirque du Soliel at its property in Punta Cana. In Martinique, however, Club Med Buccaneer’s Creek is a playground for adults, with nightlife and beach time the main draws.

That doesn’t mean your kids aren’t welcome, though, and despite its major appeal to adults, it still remains one of the most family-friendly properties in Martinique, with all-inclusive rates that cover meals, water sports, strong Wi-Fi (a rarity on the island), and a beautiful beachfront location, just steps from the guestrooms.

Room Information

Find the Best Price for Your Stay

Guestrooms, of which there are 292, are situated in bungalows. They are simple in decor and provide plenty of space and lovely balconies or terraces from which to view the ocean or gardens. They sleep three people only (with the use of a rollaway bed or crib; no extra charge), so renting a few rooms is likely. They have showers only, so an inflatable tub is also necessary if you're traveling with a baby.

Deluxe
This room provides one king bed and a sitting area. It has a balcony or terrace with a view of the ocean. With a rollway bed or crib, it can sleep up to three guests.

Club
These rooms are similar to the Deluxe units, but offer views of the resort's gardens instead.

Club Family Room
This room sleeps up to four people. One guest in your group must be a child between 3 and 11 years old.

Suite
This spacious room has one king bed and a lounge area. You can order a rollaway bed or crib to sleep a third person.

Reviews

Great combination of sports and food

by Jean M

Club Med offers beautiful surroundings to practice sports all day with great food and drinks. Les Boucaniers is a smaller club. Easy to remember the GO’s names.

Proximity to Les Salines Park offers great possibilities to hike or trail run.

If you are not french

by Mantaraya1

First time all inclusive for me. I am a backpacker,. But so open to languages and cultures. This hotel is catering only to. Native French speakers. I was treated rudely. I am German and I am good with languages. I speak 4, but not French. Guys!! If you are not a Frenchey stay away! There are other islands that are happy to have you!

Family Activities

Note: While many Club Med Resorts offer specific kids' programming, this one does not.

Pool
The hotel has a large activity pool, where a lifeguard is typically stationed. It overlooks the ocean, and plays hosts to pool games on a daily basis. It may be a little too rowdy for young children at times.

Scuba Diving and Kitesurfing
The resort offers diving and kitesurfing excursions for additional fees. Diving courses include 11 underwater stops!

Sports
Waterskiing, wakeboarding and tennis lessons are included in rates.

Family Dining

Le Pays Meles
Breakfast, lunch and dinner are served buffet-style at Le Pays Meles, with plentiful portions of bread with every meal. Don't miss the Chocolate Bread -- a staple at Club Med. Both indoor and outdoor seating (covered) are available. The restaurant temporarily closes between each meal, permanently closing at 10 p.m. nightly. It opens at 7:30 a.m. Kids' menus are available.

The Lo
This is the resort's fine-dining restaurant, serving light lunch and dinner with views of the ocean. Although it attracts couples, families are welcome to dine. Kids' menus are available.

Planning & Tips

Membership Fee
All guests are required to pay an annual membership fee ($60 per adult/$30 per child), which includes travel insurance. It is valid for one year.

All About the Extras
Wi-Fi
Wi-Fi is included in rates and works very well. In fact, the Wi-Fi at Club Med is stronger than any other resort on the island.

Fitness Center
The hotel has a small fitness room with cardio and strength training equipment. Key card entry isn't required.

The Art of Smart Timing
Most of the resorts in Martinique -- Club Med included -- are busiest mid-December to May. We recommend a visit in the fall, when crowds are noticeably fewer and deals are available.

Getting There
Aime Cesaire International Airport is located about an hour from Club Med, and your best bet is to rent a car to get to the resort.

Getting Around
You don't necessarily need a vehicle if staying at this resort, with activities and restaurants onsite, and local excursions with drivers available. If you'd like to get out and explore the island on your own, you'll need a vehicle.

For Mom and Dad
Leave the kids with their grandparents so you can enjoy a quiet dinner and lovely sunset at Lo, and/or make an appointment at the Club Med Spa by Payot. The spa offers four treatment rooms, plus another room for tandem massages.
