Summer holidays with kids

by choochan

Very nice stay in Club Med la Palmyre. Thanks a lot to most of GO team for giving us such nice memories

Positive:
1- GOs of kids club (kids and teenagers) were very dynamic and nice with them, proposing multiple different activities and always with the smile. Our kids loved their stay.
Special thanks to Colline + Quentin for being so nice with kids. Bravo !
2- Bar area (Thanks to GO Hugo, Gaetan & Amine) for your great work, discussions, happiness, smile… and drinks ! It's a good thing you were there. You should coach some of your colleagues for the right GO mindset :-)
3- Boutique: Very nice shopping with regular offers.
Nathan was very nice and professional. Very helpfull, funny, smiling and involved. I retrieve thanks to him what I love in Club Med. Also, I saw him on several entertainment / shows and he was amazing.
Nathan, you should move to entertainment. You already knows how to do it and we see that you love your GO job. You are very kind, always smiling, very dynamic. You are already a skilled GO. Bravo !!!!
4- Food was excellent. Thanks to the restaurant team + Romain for your kindness, happiness and great work. Very good client facing with smile, even during dessert rush.
Thanks also to Ingrid and the whole waiters and waitresses who were very committed to give us clean tables and beverages despite the rush.
And of course, thanks to the purchasing guy who makes it possible to have such a nice and various food & drinks.
5- Evening Sceneries: Very nice sets and the 2 guys (sorry don't know their name) were very talented, smart and nice. Have the opportunity to have diner with them and they are very interesting, with very good mindset.
6- Very very very nice environment (quiet & beautiful) with a large swimming pool.

Negative:
1- Parking fees: Very very unacceptable to be told when you check in (!) to pay parking on top (60 euros per week). Extremly unappropriate. This is a kind of blackmail.
2- Kids and bar: Rough discussions with a very rude waiter. When many people are coming to the bar, they don't want to serve our kids because it is crowded! This is so UNACCEPTABLE. I come to Club Med for my kids. If they cannot be served as everyone, no need to go to Club Med anymore…
3- Sports :Extra cost to play tennis or to have a swimming lessons. 20 years I go to Club Med and first time I saw that.
4- Atmosphere: Disapointed by the GO atmosphere + management. Very Limited presence of Marco, Chef de Village. Many people of your team is complaining, don't smile, or have incorrect behavior … If you were more present, I assume you will have seen that. It is not what I expect from a chef de Village and not a role model in my opinion…

Another great Club Med stay

by Noodles21002

As a family we had a fun time in Palmyre. It is, as expected, very French and whilst it didn’t worry me, my daughter was a little less keen to join in.

Accommodation
This was much better than I was expecting (it being 3 trident). Frustratingly, no air conditioning and if your room is outside decking, the bikes etc can be noisy if you want a siesta!

Activities
These were very well managed. Tennis tuition good (even with a language barrier) and windsurfing kit (which we weren’t anticipating). The family activities were also great - orientation and colour run.

Location
Unlike other Club Med resorts this isn’t in the middle of nowhere. The zoo was good fun and a short walk away.

Club med craziness
Was a little tamer here (which I was fine with). Still had an element but not OTT.

Complaints
Only one - when leaving I had realised I had forgotten to send a postcard my daughter had written and asked if they would add to my bill, which they couldn’t do. Anyway, I said I would leave the cost of the stamp in cash so they could pay at the boutique but they were worried I would be short changing them. Anyway on a £3000+ holiday was a little irritated that they were fussing over at max 50 cents - a little discretion would have gone a long way - I left very grumpy!

Finally the Asst Chef De Village did a brilliant cover!
