Overview

Coast Edmonton Plaza Hotel is situated in Edmonton’s arts, business and shopping district. One of the only all-suite properties in the area, one- and two-bedroom suites feature fully equipped kitchens, separate bedrooms, living rooms, dining areas and private balconies. Units also offer free Wi-Fi and complimentary coffee and tea service. Most suites sleep up to four people; however, Premium two-bedroom suites can accommodate six family members with a sofa bed and an additional bathroom. Families with longer stays can take advantage of the guest laundry facilities onsite.

Rutherford’s Restaurant & Lounge serves all meals and a variety of beverages. Chef specialized in barbecue lunches and dinner on the patio for overlooking the city. The restaurant is open from 6:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. Room service is also available during these hours.

Coast hosts an indoor pool and fitness center. Pets can also come along on vacation, as the hotel has a minimal per diem fee. To check out the area, families can visit the Art Gallery of Alberta, Commonwealth Stadium and Edmonton City Center — all close to Coast. A complimentary area shuttle is provided.

Business stay

For the cost I was left a bit disappointed in the overall experience. Sufficient for decent night sleep, room was clean and bed was comfortable.

The rest of the facility however is in need of some attention. Swimming area was filthy, hot tub was DISGUSTING with overflowing foam immediately upon turning on the jets. The gym in this place is a joke, half in the same area as swimming with a single bench and free weights, and then inside a shoebox size room about 6 cardio machines. Also to be noted hotel is directly across from xxx adult entertainment so for families you might want to reconsider. When checking out noticed I received a parking ticket from the impart lot regardless of having already paid $25 a night direct through the hotel. I returned to the front desk and took the ticket and said they would deal with it so it was handled. Front desk could use more welcoming personality, did the job yes but no one really looked to happy to be there.

Edmonton Coast Hotel

A hotel in the middle of downtown Edmonton. I liked the facilities, although I wish the hours for the gym were better than they were. Out of towners might prefer earlier or later hours. If you have a choice, ask for a room not facing the strip bar/joint across the way. So nights the patrons can be very loud and they do prefer cannabis as their favourite hobby out in the street.
